The “Principles of Masonry Construction Program” is designed to provide the student a foundation in masonry construction and how to build with masonry.
Courses include:
- Introduction to Masonry
- Masonry Tools and Equipment
- Measurements, Drawings and Specifications
- Mortar
- Masonry Units and Installation Techniques
- Residential Plans and Drawing Interpretation
- Residential Masonry
- Metal Work in Masonry
- Advanced Laying Techniques

Mason Tenders Training
The training goals are two-fold:
After successfully completing the appropriate competencies for the program, the student will be able to perform the following:
- Follow Safety Practices
- Identify, Clean and Use Hand Tools
- Select and Mix Mortars and Concrete
- Clean Masonry
- Erect and Disassemble Basic Scaffolds
- Display a general understanding of masonry practices
- Assist in building foundations and breaking down forms
- Demonstrate employability skill
